Description: This will be a fun day packed full of learning about the many aspects of modern homesteading. In this class, led by Farmer Ryan, you will learn about the role of different animals on the homestead, how to set up your farm for efficient handling of livestock and daily chores, the science behind rotational grazing and other animal husbandry practices, what can be grown in our corner of the world, the best kinds of fencing, composting basics, and butchering skills.
What to Bring: The class will be held outside so dress for the weather. Bring a brown bag lunch, your notebook, your mud boots, and your questions. Snacks and beverages will be provided.
Ages: Homesteading is a family business; children of all ages are welcome.
Cost: $75 per person, $25 for each additional member of your family
